Kate Pickford is an undergraduate student in her second year at Duke University. She is working towards a major in mathematics with a minor in economics. At the World Food Policy Center, Kate supports events and speaker series through communication and research efforts. Prior to joining the WFPC, she worked with nonprofits addressing food insecurity in her hometown of Chicago, which strengthened her interest in the role of food systems in community health outcomes. Following her undergraduate studies, Kate plans to attend law school to further explore how her academic interests in quantitative analysis inform policy decisions.
