Joseph Graves

Graduate Research Assistant

Joseph Graves is a graduate student in North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University’s  (NCAT) Applied Mathematics and Statistics Master’s Program.  His academic advisor is Dr. Seong-Tae Kim.  Joseph earned his Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Duke University in 2014.  He is interested in applying statistical and data science techniques to study and address socioeconomic issues.  In the year 2019, he was a member of NCAT’s IS4Good National Research Traineeship (NRT) on Food Security led by Dr. Lauren Davis (PI).  His project is in collaboration with the Duke World Food Policy Center (WFPC).  He has been working with Dr. Gizem Templeton of the WFPC to visualize the food landscape in Durham.  He plans to continue this research for his Master’s project.
