Taylor Woollen

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Taylor is a senior in the UNC Honors Program majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry and Spanish. She has enjoyed the UNC summer programs in Australia and Peru as well as the semester program in Barcelona. She has worked in a lab for the past couple of years under the guidance of Dr. Tarantino and plans to go to medical school and hope to become a pediatrician. She is interested in nutrition, particularly as it affects the health of communities in our country and around the world. She has enjoyed learning about the history of Durham, especially focusing on the topic of food desserts and food disparities. This past year she enjoyed working on a project documenting the location of food related businesses as well as the race of the business owners throughout the 1900s in Durham.
